Redesigning the Social Gaming and Live Streaming Experience
As the Lead UI/UX Designer, I redesigned Wizzo’s mobile app experience to bring together gaming, live streaming, short-form content, AI assistance, social interaction, and reward-based engagement in one connected entertainment platform.
01 — Project Goal
Creating a seamless and engaging experience across gaming, streaming, and rewards
Wizzo is a mobile entertainment platform that combines short-form gaming content, live streaming, games, social interaction, rewards, and AI in one app, and the goal was to design a clear and engaging experience that supports this wide feature set without overwhelming users.
So instead of separating features, the experience was built around connected user loops where users can discover content, play games, watch or start live streams, interact with others, and earn rewards while tracking their progress, with the objective of creating a unified gaming and social ecosystem rather than a collection of disconnected features.
02 — The Problem
A feature-rich product needed a clearer and more connected user experience
Wizzo offers many high-value features, but the main UX challenge was feature complexity.
Users needed to understand what they could do in the app, where to start, and how different actions were connected. Without a clear structure, the experience could easily feel crowded or difficult to navigate.
What can I do first when I open the app?
Where can I watch short videos or live streams?
How do I start my own live stream?
Can I invite a friend to stream with me?
How do Wizzo Coins, gifts, Tickets, and rewards work?
Where can I find my daily quests?
How do I play games and share them through live streaming?
How can I track my stream performance?
How do I connect with friends through chat, voice, or video?
What is the role of Wizzo AI inside the app?
The challenge was to create a mobile experience where entertainment, gaming, creator tools, social features, rewards, and AI could work together in a way that felt intuitive, fast, and motivating.

DESIGN QUESTION
How might we design a social gaming platform that helps users discover content, play games, go live, interact with others, and earn rewards without making the experience feel complex or fragmented?
03 — Research & Evaluation
Understanding how users move between watching, playing, streaming, socializing, and earning rewards
The research and evaluation process focused on understanding how different user types would move through the product: viewers, players, streamers, socially active users, and reward-driven users.
Key Insights
01
I structured the app around five main navigation areas: Feed, Explore, Play, Social, and Profile, so that each section has a clear purpose while still keeping the full ecosystem accessible.
02
Users can ask questions, discover features, or create avatars without leaving the main experience.
03
I designed quest to appear as part of the everyday app experience rather than as a separate, hidden system.

07 — Key Design Solutions
From insight to interface
Click on any iPhone to view it in full-screen mode for a more immersive and cohesive experience.

Solution 01
Feed Experience
The Feed was designed as the main entry point for entertainment and discovery.
Allowing users to scroll through short-form gaming videos in a familiar vertical format similar to modern reels-based content experiences, with the goal of making the first interaction simple and instantly engaging.
This creates a lightweight entry point for users who want to start by watching rather than immediately playing or streaming.

Solution 02
Explore Experience
The Explore page helps users discover games, streamers, recommended videos, nearby gamers, and AI entry points.
This structure supports both passive discovery and active participation.
Instead of making users choose one path, the Explore experience allows them to move toward watching, playing, streaming, socializing, or using AI from one central discovery surface.

Solution 03
Play Experience
The Play section was designed as the main destination for game discovery and game access.
Users can browse games, download available games, launch ready-to-play games, and access leaderboard-related content.
The Play experience also creates a natural connection between gaming and live streaming by allowing users to share gameplay moments with others.

Solution 04
Live Streaming Experience
The live stream interface was designed to support real-time interaction without hiding the content.
The screen includes live status, uptime, viewer count, comments, joined-user updates, gift notifications, like and gift actions, invite option, mute control, camera reverse action, and comment input.
The interface balances creator controls and viewer interaction while keeping the video content as the main focus.

Solution 05
Gift and Wizzo Coin System
The gifting system allows viewers to support streamers during live broadcasts using Wizzo Coins.
The system supports real time gift notifications Wizzo Coin usage streamer recognition viewer participation and supporter motivation.
This feature strengthens the creator economy layer of the app and gives viewers a more meaningful way to participate during a stream.

Solution 06
Two-Person Live Streaming
Wizzo allows users to invite a friend and start a two-person live stream.
The two-person layout makes both streamers visible while keeping the same core interaction tools available, such as comments, gifts, likes, and sharing.
This helps Wizzo move beyond one-way broadcasting and support shared entertainment moments.

Solution 07
Post-Stream Analytics
After a live stream ends, users receive a performance summary.
This gives streamers immediate feedback and encourages them to improve future streams.
The analytics experience was designed to feel motivational rather than overly technical. The goal was to help creators understand their performance quickly and feel encouraged to stream again.

Solution 08
Quest System
The quest system gives users daily goals and encourages repeat engagement.
The quest system gives users daily goals and encourages repeat engagement.
This helps users understand what they can do next and why it matters.
The quest system also supports product education by encouraging users to try different parts of the app.

Solution 09
Ticket-Based Loyalty Experience
Tickets earned through quests and platform activity can be used in the loyalty experience.
This connects everyday engagement with external value through partner-based rewards, discounts, and coupons.
The loyalty system gives users a reason to return to the app and complete tasks consistently.
This also creates a bridge between entertainment, gamification, and real-world rewards.

Solution 10
Leaderboard
The leaderboard experience allows users to compete based on Tickets and other performance-based categories.
This gives streamers immediate feedback and encourages them to improve future streams.
The analytics experience was designed to feel motivational rather than overly technical. The goal was to help creators understand their performance quickly and feel encouraged to stream again.

Solution 11
Wizzo Ai Entry Point
Wizzo AI was designed as an assistant layer within the app.
Users can ask questions about Wizzo games, discover app features, create new avatars, or get guidance.
The AI entry point was designed to feel accessible and lightweight, rather than like a separate product outside the Wizzo experience.

Solution 12
Profile and Social Features
The Profile area supports user identity, content creation, social interaction, and creator activity.
The social layer helps Wizzo feel like a community, not only a content or gaming app.
It also supports deeper engagement by allowing users to build relationships beyond watching and playing.
08 — Visual Design
Creating a dark, energetic, and gaming-focused visual system
The visual design was created to feel energetic, immersive, and gaming-focused.
I used Wizzo’s dark interface
and electric turquoise
as the main palette.
Bright accent colors, rounded cards, game artwork, avatars, coins, and ticket elements
help the product feel playful, immersive, and reward-driven without losing clarity.

09 — Accessibility
The visual design was created to feel energetic, immersive, and gaming-focused.
Making high-energy gaming interactions readable, clear, and easy to use
Clear contrast between text and dark backgrounds
Large tap areas for live controls, game actions, and navigation
Large, readable typography for key actions and data
Consistent bottom navigation labels
Recognizable icons supported by text where needed
Visual separation between content cards
Clear status indicators for Live, Active, Claimed, and Joined states
Clear feedback after stream completion, gift reception, and reward claiming
10— What I Learned
Designing for non-linear journeys across gaming, streaming, rewards, AI, and social behavior

This project helped me understand the complexity of designing a multi-feature entertainment ecosystem.
Wizzo is not only a gaming app, a live streaming app, a rewards app, or a social platform. It combines all of these experiences into one mobile product.
The biggest challenge was creating a structure where each feature had a clear role while still feeling connected to the larger ecosystem.
I learned that in products with strong gamification and social mechanics, the user journey is not linear. Users may enter through a video, move into a game, start a stream, receive a gift, complete a quest, earn Tickets, check the leaderboard, and return later for rewards.
Because of this, the design needed to support flexible user behavior rather than a single fixed path.
I also learned the importance of balancing excitement with clarity. A gaming product can be visually rich and energetic, but users still need clear navigation, readable hierarchy, and simple actions.
Easier discovery of games, videos, streams, and social features
Better understanding of the relationship between Wizzo Coins, Tickets, gifts, and rewards
Faster access to live streaming and game-playing actions
More repeat usage through daily quests and loyalty incentives
Stronger user motivation through quests, Tickets, rewards, and leaderboard competition
Stronger social connection through friends, messaging, voice calls, video calls, and two-person streaming
Higher creator engagement through gifting and post-stream analytics
A more connected product ecosystem across Feed, Explore, Play, Social, Profile, and AI
12 — Next Steps
Where I would take this next
13 — Conclusion
Refine social flows for messaging, voice calls, and video calls
In the Wizzo project, I focused on designing a mobile experience that brings together gaming, live streaming, short-form content, social interaction, AI assistance, and reward-based engagement.
The main challenge was not only designing individual screens, but also creating a connected ecosystem where users can move naturally between watching, playing, streaming, earning, competing, and socializing.
The final experience positions Wizzo as a high-energy social gaming platform where users can discover content, play games, go live, interact with friends, receive gifts, complete quests, earn Tickets, redeem rewards, and grow their presence in the community.
